What is the most important thing that a person would care about themselves? I am sure the answer is the body. All of us will be careful about our hygiene and everything else to keep ourselves clean. For this, a bathroom is essential. The more luxurious it is, the happier the bath will be. The luxuries that can be found in bath room equipment are far from imaginable.

A bathroom suite and a shower handset are just two among them. A bath room suite is a bath space created inside the bathroom with all facilities for a shower. There are special places for every bathroom accessory and also to keep all the necessary bathroom stationeries that we use. This suite can be bought and installed and all additional facilities will be provided by the place that you buy it from. There are bathroom-suites available in almost all ranges. The price may vary from the area, the materials used and also the facilities the bathroom suite incorporate.

The suite is available in a variety of models.

Most of the users prefer a simple and elegant design, with very little decoration. The colour preferred is white or crème or its shades. Colorful suites are not in trend. It is because the colour can give the bathroom an old look. But, who knows! The colour suites might set a trend in the near future. The best among the coloured ones are black, red or even blue.

Shower handsets come in a lot of sizes and shapes. It comes in a number of materials as well. The most identified version is the one that clings on to the bath cradle. It resembles in most of the time, the receiver of a telephone. The bathroom along with the bathroom suite gets a more classic look than ever before. The advantage of a shower handset is that it saves a lot of water by avoiding the unnecessary use of water.

They are hence nature-friendly. There is also the provision to adjust the water and the pressure by which it comes on in the bath.

People with sensitive skin and people who are easily prone to allergies can make use of this system and take advantage of it. It also reduces the amount of chemicals and other substances that go into the ground water to a very considerable level. The bathroom suites and also the shower handset can provide the bathroom with an all new look which is elegant and at the same time affordable.

Bathrooms can be defined as a place where people love to ease themselves and let their inner self loose. The concept of bathrooms has changed from being mere rooms to resting rooms. With change in the concept of bathroom, there is change in the concept of bath too. Bath is a detailed wash, and not a quick wash under the shower. After a long tiring day, we all deserve and desire to feel relaxed and shed off the stiffness. A bath tub filled with warm water to soak into your skin, and revitalize your worn out energy is nothing but sheer bliss! Truly an experience by itself, one can hardly explain in words the relaxation a bath tub offers mentally and physically.

Baths are available in various shapes and sizes today. We choose according to the shape of our bathroom, size of our area as well as the budget we choose to be in. some are designed long so that you can stretch out and lie down.

Some are smaller in length. Though some are short, they may be deep in depth, so that you can sit with in with water up to your neck. You can choose the one that suits your requirement.

Bathrooms that are not roomy enough to accommodate bath tubs opt for shower area with shower enclosures. Having a shower enclosure around the shower area, not just adds to privacy, but also prevents water from slashing out maintaining the bathroom dry. Today, with rising expectation, and innovative trends today we have various types of shower enclosure giving us wide options. Choosing the right one of the right size and suiting design is of utmost importance since we do not redesign bathrooms often.

Bi-fold shower enclosures are most common, that does not obstruct the space of the bathroom, and can be swung open to retain the original area.

These are more apt for bathrooms that have space constraints. Another option is the Quadrant shower enclosures which are more stylized and need more room than the later. We also customize our shower enclosure to suit our bathroom, though these may be more expensive. Commonly these are made of fiber glass or safety glass, in framed or frameless variants.

There were times when people did not even have a shower at their house. But, can the present generation even imagine such a bathroom? I guess not! With the wide variety of showers available in the market, we are getting terribly confused as to which one to buy.

The latest among the showers are the electric and the power ones. Even though the ancestors of them were invented one and a half decades ago, new models come into the market every now and then. Electric showers come in different shapes and sizes. They are available in bathroom suites as well as spas. There are even ones that are available with a massaging facility, massaging with water to be precise. It can be a very soothing experience.

The electric showers have a variety of facilities. They are available even with a remote facility that will help us to control the temperature and even let out a beep or a light to indicate that the temperature is friendly.

The advantage of an electric shower is that they only heat the required amount of water and not any excess.

They are very easy to install as well. It is a very good option for extra bathrooms. The colors available to choose from also are a wide variety. But most of the users go for a chrome colored one as they give a classic elegant look to the bathroom. The best thing is that it goes with both the old and the new ones alike.

Installation is an easy process. However, if not installed correctly, there are risks of getting an electric shock. A professional should always be consulted to enable the installation process. The product should be certified by the respective organizations of the country for manufacturing defects. Care should be taken as to not have any wires exposed.

Earthing should be carefully done as it is the best way to prevent electric shock.

The shower can create a power change in the electric wiring and plumbing. But, the use of the shower is far more advantageous that these things are rarely taken into account. There are different companies and models available. So when choosing an electric or a power shower, it should be chosen with all requirement in mind. After all, it is the consumer’s choice and it is us who should take the responsibility of buying the best product for our homes.

Bath filler taps are the most popular choice when compared to all the other types of taps preferred for bathrooms. Since the water in these taps is allowed to mix in the body itself, it has a much better control of temperature.

It sits flat on the bath rim and only one single spout is required to supply a mix of hot and cold water. Bath filler taps are available in a wide range of designs and also offer a wide variety of finishes to choose from.

It is provided with two handles on either side of the spout that allow the supply of either only hot or only cold water. The styles prevailing are traditional, Victorian and contemporary, to name a few.

Shower valves are divided into two widely accepted systems, namely:
• Pressure balancing valve
• Thermostatic valve

Pressure balancing valve:
This system of shower vales consists of a singular control as well as handle.

While the pressure and force with which the water comes out remains constant, the temperature of the water changes with the direction in which the handle is moved. Moving it to the left makes the water warmer and moving it to the right makes it cooler. The water, however, gushes out with the same force, irrespective of the direction in which the handle is moved.

With the availability of ample amount of hot water, the pressure balancing valve maintains a constant and accurate temperature, limiting the change to a maximum of 3 degrees. Being facile in operation, it is suitable for all bathroom types.

Thermostatic valve:
This type of shower valves has several controls. However, its only function is to maintain the temperature of the water.

A volume control is attached which controls the supply of water through each valve. In this system, the user has the advantage of selecting a desired temperature for the water before turning it on. It provides users with a luxury bath.

a focus on water conservation and everyone wanting to go “green” these days, people are starting to pay attention to some of the things they do every day and consider the consequences of their actions in regards to water usage. No longer do the vast majority either ignore or simple not care about our planet’s resources. People are starting to wise up to the finite nature of our water supply and the impact that water wasting now will have on future generations. One simple and very practical question that people have asked is whether or not taking a bath consumes more water than taking a shower.

To some, it seems that filling a tub once would consume less water than standing in a shower for 10 to 15 minutes. But there are others that believe that a shower of reasonable duration would take far less water than filling a tub.

So, who is right? Well the answer is, “it depends.” To answer this question, we have to look at the type of shower head, the duration of the shower, and the resulting amount of water that is being used by both approaches to bathing.

First, let’s get an accurate assessment of the water that will be consumed in a typical bath. A standard bath tub will hold between 33 and 42 gallons of water. There are larger tubs that hold more, but this is a very common size for residential tubs. For our comparison, we will use 30 gallons as the amount of water being used since people do not fill their tubs totally full due to water displacement and we want to make a fair and reasonably accurate comparison.

Next comes the shower data. This measurement requires us to make certain assumptions in order to come up with a number.

Not every shower head dispenses the same amount of water per minute and not every shower is the same duration of time. Let us make the assumption that an average shower is fifteen minutes in length. Women might take longer than that and men will probably take less time, but it gives us an average that is probably reasonable for our purposes and will illustrate our point. Now we will assume you are using a modern low-flow shower head that dispenses one gallon of water per minute. There are models that use as little as a half gallon of water per minute that would save even more.

So, the bottom line is that an average bath will use about 30 gallons of water and an average shower will only use about fifteen gallons. It is obvious that the choice is pretty clear for those that want to conserve resources, a shower is the way to go. Again, this is all based on the assumption that you are using a low-flow shower head. If not, what are you waiting for? Go to your nearest hardware store and pick one up today. They only cost a few dollars and the difference you can make is substantial.

Disabled showers and bath seats are two bathing solutions that are becoming very popular these days. Primarily targeted towards people with restricted mobility and others who find it difficult to bathe on their own without assistance, these innovative bath aids are creating a sensation in the market as they attract other consumers too. This can be gauged from the growing number of websites and offline manufacturers that offer such products like bath. Here we will list some of the reasons for the growing popularity of bath seats and disabled showers.

1. Highly Useful for People with Limited Mobility.

A disabled shower, or a bath seat, or bathmate, as such seats are also known, are specially developed for people who find it difficult to bathe on their own. These bathing solutions allow you to bathe without any problems.

A disabled shower, for example, will have thermostatically controlled lever taps and touch control handsets to help you bathe easily and conveniently. It might also have foldable, and/or adjustable seats inside the shower cubicle for you to sit down, in case you want to shower seated. A good disabled shower will have anti-slip floors and grip rails to prevent any falls. Similarly, a bathmate or bath seat will allow you to use an ordinary bath without worrying about climbing in and out of the tub. You just inflate it when you want to get in, or out, and deflate it to soak in the tub.

2. Usable by Everyone

Though these bathing solutions have been developed for special sections of people, they can be used by everyone.

Installing a disabled shower in the home need not mean creating a separate bathroom, for instance. It can be used by every member of the family; in fact, it will make your bathing experience enjoyable, irrespective of whether you are affected by restricted mobility or not. Bath seats too can be used by everyone.

3. No major Installation

Installing a disabled shower does not involve any major changes; most models are available in various shapes and sizes to fit into your old bathroom. There are many companies, offline and online, that promise quick and hassle free installation of these bathing solutions. In that regard, a bathmate or bath seat is even more convenient as you can just place it in any ordinary bath tub when you want to bathe.

4. Stylish and Elegant

These bathing solutions are not just utility devices; they are also very elegant and stylish. They are available in a wide range of colors and designs to fit into your existing décor scheme. In fact, they are a good way of renovating your bathroom if it has become a bit dull. With beautifully contoured glass screen doors and chrome fittings, disabled showers would not look out of place in a luxury resort.

Now that you know the reasons behind the increasing popularity of disabled showers and bath seats, you must admit that they are quite a bargain. And indeed, they can often be bought at very competitive rates, especially if you buy them from a good online company that specializes in such bathing solutions. So if you have been thinking of getting one of these, stop thinking and buy one today itself!

No is the answer to the query; is tap water safe for bathing and showering. Here’s why.
Practically all public supplies most be disinfected in some approach so as to reduce bacterial contaminants, algae or both. All disinfection ways cause the assembly of chemical compounds stated by scientists as “disinfection by-product” or DBPs.

Exposure to DBPs is known to cause an increased risk of cancer. For several years, the danger was believed to be related to consumption of the DBPs and/or the chemical disinfectants themselves.

From research scientists, we have learned that the chemicals can be inhaled and absorbed through the skin. The concentration gift in the air of an internal shower stall has been measured when running hot water. The concentration is on top of what’s deemed to be safe for indoor swimming pools.

Due to concern for swimmers, athletic research scientists have estimated the risk to people who swim in, shower in and consume the chemicals.

The risk has been deemed “unacceptable”.

Chlorinating a swimming pool is essential. Bacteria would build up quickly and people would become ill.

Disinfecting public supplies is essential. Various diseases are transmitted via the public water supply. A massive group of sicknesses are designated as “waterborne”. They’re borne or carried from one person to another via the water.

There is still some discussion concerning the solution to; is faucet water safe for bathing and showering, even with all of the studies that have been completed. The controversy has to try and do with the quantity of actual risk, which has however to be satisfactorily determined in some people’s minds.

Not everybody who is exposed to DBPs can develop cancer.

Researchers have however to agree on an estimate of what the incidence could be. What percentage of individuals will develop cancer?

We have a tendency to might never be able to answer that query, as a result of there are such a lot of factors that have an effect on the individual’s risk of cancer. Genetics, general health, nutritional intake, diet, etc. are all factors to consider.

But we tend to can still say “no” to the query; is tap water safe for bathing and showering. One amongst the risks has nothing to try to to with cancer.

Chlorine and alternative chemicals dry out the skin and hair. Some people develop rashes. Others have itching and cracked skin as a results of exposure to the chemicals. Still others develop dandruff.

For the skin’s health and look, for the appearance of your hair, for a reduced risk of cancer, all you wish to do is invest in a very straightforward showerhead filter. The filters will be installed in a very matter of minutes. Some systems come with a removable head to form it easier to fill the tub.

If you put in this kind of system, the answer will be “yes” to the question ; is tap water safe for bathing and showering. The solution forever depends on the steps people absorb their own homes.

Researchers have been attempting to answer the question ; is tap water safe for bathing and showering. They have been attempting, for quite a while, as a result of of disinfection byproducts referred to as trihalomethanes (THMs) that are known to extend the individual’s cancer risk.

The “powers that be” have known regarding these chemicals for many years, but, timely, it was believed that the only danger of exposure came through drinking. That’s how the US Environmental Protection Agency arrived that the “Most Contaminant Level” (MCL) for total trihalomethanes, listed on a consumer confidence report as TTHMs.

That’s an entire heap of letters. In plain English, here’s what I am trying to say. Scientists working for the government didn’t consider the very fact that chemicals can be absorbed through our skin. Nor, did they contemplate the very fact that THMs are gases, therefore we inhale them, whenever we tend to flip on a faucet.

A few researchers believed that these inhalation and dermal absorption should be considered.

That is why they started doing the studies. Citizens deserve to grasp; is faucet water safe for bathing and showering. They have to grasp, therefore they will take measures to guard themselves in their homes.

Medical journals were, at initial, leery of publishing the study results. They feared that the general public would protest chlorination and call for an end to public disinfection measures. After all, there has been no such outcry. Practically everyone is aware of that there would be outbreaks of cholera and epidemics of other waterborne illnesses, were it not for the employment of chlorine and different disinfectants.

The planet’s freshwater sources are limited.

In cities and cities where groundwater will be tapped into, the answer to; is faucet water safe for bathing and showering, may be different. Groundwater isn’t as doubtless to contain the multitude of bacteria that is found in surface water. Fewer bacteria mean fewer disinfectants and fewer THMs.

So, so as to answer the question for yourself and judge whether or not you would like a showerhead filter in your home, you would like to appear at your source. The consumer confidence report that facilities are required to publish, at least on the web, ought to list the supply of your home’s water. If it is a lake, regardless of its location, you most likely would like a shower head filter. If it’s a river, you actually would like one.

That is what scientists report once they look at; is faucet water safe for bathing and showering. They need measured blood levels and amounts in urine when 15 minute showers. The amount would be even higher once a bath. They found that the quantity that is present in blood and urine is higher than that found once a person drinks a full liter of unfiltered tap-water.

You have to use caution, though. Most systems out there cut back chlorine, however not THMs, because special resins are needed to lure them. The underside line is this. In step with researchers from around the world, “no” is the solution to; is faucet water safe for bathing and showering. While not a filter, you have got doubled your cancer risks.

There are no two ways about it. That tap water is not safe for drinking, is a known fact now. But is tap water safe for bathing and showering? If you are not drinking the water, can it still cause harm to your health? Let’s find out.

To know the answer to this question, first let’s quickly go through the contaminants that you can find in tap water.

The biggest contaminant in our water is a chemical added in it to make it safe for drinking! This chemical is chlorine and is used as a disinfectant to kill the bacteria in the water. It is pretty effective too while the water lies in the reservoirs of the water company.

But what happens when this water passes through the old, rusted pipes of the distribution network? These pipes are themselves loaded with all kinds of bacteria and other germs and contaminate the water again.

When you shower in this water, you are directly exposed to all these harmful microbes.

The heavy metals present in the water do not pose a risk as long as you are just using the water for showering and not drinking it without filtering.

But the chemicals like chlorine are still a threat to your health. These chemicals evaporate while you bath and then you ingest their vapors unknowingly.

Any other chemicals present in the water like pesticides and herbicides can also add to the cocktail of vaporous chemicals that you are inhaling while showering and can cause serious health problems.

So, what’s the solution?
There are two ways you can handle this risk.

One – You setup a shower filter that purifies the water while you bathe. This is a pretty effective and quick to way to purify the water supply in your bathroom. Of course, you would already have a separate water purifier in your kitchen to purify your drinking water too – Doesn’t make sense to bathe in clean water and then turn around and drink contaminated water.

Two – Instead of opting for separate filters for your bathroom and kitchen, you opt for a whole house water filter. This type of purifier is installed at the point where your house is connected to the water supply, and purifies the water at its entry point only.

The obvious advantage of this setup is – you do not need to buy separate filters for each bathroom and the kitchen. Just one filter to take care of them all is enough.

So, is tap water safe for bathing and showering? No. But you can make it safe by filtering it first. Go now and find out a good filter for your home.
